The RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) is Wiesbaden’s new flagship venue for conventions, trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences. Scheduled to open in 2018 it will feature a tailor-made framework of two flexible halls and several break-out areas. It was important to establish a consistent Brand Design in the early stages of the planning process as potential event organizers had to be convinced of the location’s advantages years before its completion.

Architecture = Identity
Its unique and functional architecture has been one the structure’s key features from the very beginning. Embedded in a larger park area in the city center the distinctive combination of vertical columns and strong horizontal elements are going to become a prominent part of Wiesbaden’s cityscape.

The logo visualizes the building’s signature look in a simple yet characteristic way – and can even be seen as an abstract interpretation of a fingerprint. Architecture and Visual Branding become one thereby communicating a consistent Brand Identity across all channels.

Rooted in Wiesbaden
Wiesbaden has always been a city with a rich architectural heritage. Largely spared during the Second World War one can still see the remains of various eras while strolling through the different neighborhoods. A particularly prominent element is the omnipresence of columns though. Be it the famous ›Kurhaus‹, the ›Museum Wiesbaden‹ or one of the many other historic buildings: they all feature visually strong vertical components. A fact that perfectly embeds the new RMCC and its Visual Brand Identity within the city.

RMCC Typography

Typography & Color
Paying tribute to the unique architecture while establishing a look that emphasizes the location’s role as a prime event hub in Central Germany: Both the typography and the colors add an important nuance to the Visual Brand Design as they move the overall look from a solely pragmatic-driven approach – represented by the logomark and the rational ›GT Walsheim‹ – to a more approachable, more refined solution.
